Jayanti Chauhan, the daughter of Ramesh and Zainab Chauhan, holds the esteemed position of Vice Chairperson at the renowned bottled water brand, Bisleri. Her contributions have been instrumental in driving the brand’s growth and fostering innovation.
At the tender age of 24, Jayanti embarked on her journey with Bisleri, commencing her career within the family business. Her father, Ramesh Chauhan, entrusted her with the responsibility of managing the company, conveying their aspiration to retain it rather than sell it. Initially, Jayanti concentrated on the Delhi office, commencing from scratch and prioritizing the modernization of the plant and the automation of several processes.

Growing up in Delhi, Mumbai, and New York City, she was exposed to a rich cultural tapestry that has shaped her. Her higher education took her to the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles, where she earned a degree in Product Development.
Her passion for fashion flourished further at Istituto Marangoni Milano, where she honed her skills in fashion styling and earned diplomas in both fashion styling and photography. Moreover, Jayanti’s academic pursuits extended to a degree in Arabic from the esteemed School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London.
During her early career, Jayanti interned with several renowned fashion brands, gaining invaluable industry experience and insights.

By 2011, Jayanti assumed the leadership role at the Mumbai office, leveraging her global exposure and diverse cross-industry experience to make significant contributions. Her efforts have been pivotal in transforming Bisleri’s operations, particularly in the Sales and Marketing departments. Jayanti has actively participated in developing advertising, communication strategies, and brand positioning.
Under Jayanti’s leadership, Bisleri expanded its product portfolio. She played a pivotal role in streamlining operations for several products, including Bisleri Mineral Water, Vedica Natural Mineral Water (targeted at the luxury segment), Fizzy Fruit Drinks, Bisleri Hand Purifier, and New Product Development.
In an exclusive interview with Forbes, Jayanti shared her business philosophy: “I don’t see competition as a threat. Instead, I believe we are our own biggest competition.”
Jayanti Rejected Tata Group’s Rs 7,000 Cr Offer
In a significant move, Ramesh Chauhan initially agreed to sell Bisleri to the Tata Group for an estimated Rs 7,000 crore. However, Jayanti ultimately decided to retain ownership of the brand that her family had built over the years. This decision reflects her unwavering commitment to preserving Bisleri’s legacy and driving its continued growth.
As reported by Dainik Bhaskar, Bisleri International’s valuation in the 2022-23 fiscal year was Rs 2300 crore.
